The sixth Trondheim Conference on Biodiversity is held February 1-5, 2010, and will consider status and lessons learned from the 2010 target and provide CBD with a sound basis for developing post 2010 biodiversity targets. New targets will be set under CBD and the United Nations in the second half of 2010.

2009 is possibly the most important year for forests in living memory. We are in the final stretch of the road to Copenhagen, and COP 15, where negotiators expect to finalise a post-Kyoto global climate agreement in December. To coincide with the conference, CIFOR, the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) and the Government of Denmark will host Forest Day 3.
